I cannot believe the people in our society today. Everyone is sue-happy, and want to place blame on the easiest, most convenient person around. People can’t accept that sometimes life just sucks, and you get over it. Like spilling hot coffee on yourself after ordering it from McDonalds—why would someone sue McDonalds for their clumsiness….because they can. That’s why.
I’m now in quite the situation because someone is accusing me of hitting their car while they were parked in the parking lot at my work. I got a letter from AAA today saying I was being accused for hitting a parked car and needed to give my insurance information immediately so that action could be taken. I didn’t hit the car, I would never hit a car and keep going, but the blame needed to be placed on someone, and I guess I was the unlucky person that looked easy enough to blame it on.
Is it because I’m a female? Or is it because I’m young and look naïve? Or maybe it was the fact that I was the first person to walk to a silver car and get in. I have no idea. All I know now is that I have to deal with some “jerk” (trying to keep the blog clean for grading purposes) because he couldn’t handle having a couple tiny scratches on his car, that probably wiped off anyways.
